District Council Newsletters

Many District Councils produce their own newsletters. They are done anywhere from monthly to quarterly. There is no standard layout or length required, but we do ask that you send a draft to Suzan Yungner, Vice President, District Councils, before sending out each newsletter. Below are samples of the newsletters we have received during the current calendar year and a few guidelines/things to keep in mind. For archived newsletters from past years, click here.

Newsletter Guidelines

District Council Newsletter Style Guide (created March 2008) - PDF

All information in a newsletter should be current/relevant as of the date it is sent to members. Make sure you are not advertising registration for past events or using outdated information.
When mentioning one of ULI's Senior Resident Fellows, be sure to use their full title (i.e. William H. Hudnut, Senior Resident Fellow, ULI/Joseph C. Canizaro Chair for Public Policy).
District Council should always be capitalized, but titles for Executive Committee members (chair, vice-chair, etc.) should be in lower case.
Use the correct logo for your District Council.
The newsletter is in many ways representing your District Council. It does not have to be elaborate and can be very simple, but should be something you're proud to share with members and prospects.
Always send a copy to Suzan Yungner at syungner@uli.org to review and also send her a final copy to post online.
